Update on the operation and equipment moves at the Mid-Carolina P&DC
* I met with management on January 15, 2019. The manual clerk operations at the Mid-C P&DC will be done away with in the coming weeks. The mail from the manual operation will be worked on the USS machine. The staffing for the USS machine will be clerks and mail handlers. Mail handlers will be operating the dump stations. Clerks will be working the throw offs, keying station, and rejects. The USS machine will be staffed on all three tours. The local APWU and management will be at the Mid-C P&DC on tomorrow, January 18, 2019 at 3:30 p.m. and 11:00 p.m. to meet with the clerks involved.
* I met with management on January 15, 2019. The AI automated flats operation at the Mid-C P&DC will be done away with in the coming weeks. The mail from the flats operation will be worked at the Charlotte P&DC. The machine will not be going to the Charlotte P&DC, only the mail.
* We are currently meeting to discuss what jobs will be posted on all three tours for the USS and how many. We are also discussing the proper procedure for handling the AI automated flats jobs.
If you have specific questions, please write them down and bring to one of the two meetings tomorrow at the Mid-C P&DC.
Sincerely,
Anthony (Tony) Wilson
