Anthony Wilson, General President - Jobs Update Feb. 13, 2018
Updated On: Feb 13, 2018
We are still having regular jobs meeting with Corey Bell in reference to the last F-1 scheduler that management just completed and what would be the effects on the jobs for each section and tour. We will be meeting again next week. Below will be a breakdown of what we know as of now.
There will be a decrease of approximately 18 jobs on tour 2. As of right now, they are planning on excessing 18 employees from tour 2. The majority will go to tour 3 and a couple to tour 1. They are supposed to supply the union with the letters to be given to the employees being excessed prior to mailing them out.
Once the excessing from the tour is complete. There will be an in-section bidding. That in-section bidding will be electronically and not manually as done in the past.
There will be an increase of jobs on tour 3.
There will be a slight increase of jobs on tour 1.
TOUR 3 AFCS JOBS:
There will be a total of 8 jobs on the AFCS.
We will continue to have weekly meetings with management concerning jobs.
I met with management and discussed that there are several clerks on tour 3 that have retreat rights back to the manual section. I notice on the current posting that management posted jobs that should have been offered to clerks with retreat rights. We are meeting with management to get this corrected as soon as possible. There were 7 jobs posted for tour 3 manual area. They have some jobs on other tours that they have reposted. We will be looking into those to make sure everything was done within the scope of the CBA.
Other job issues:
We have been successful through the grievance process to have 2 city jobs reposted due to improper reversion.
We also won an reversion arbitration for an AO office dealing with an improper reversion in the York S.C location.
We are awaiting an updated seniority listing for the FTRs and the PSEs.
