Annex Building Operations /Staffing
September 19, 2018
We have been meeting with management daily to complete what operations will be at the annex along with the staffing for the annex building. Due to hurricane Florence, some processing will take place at the annex for Fayetteville mail. We will continue to meet with management on a regular basis dealing with the issues at the annex.
The following operations will be at the annex building. There will be 7 DBCSs at the annex building. The DBCS machines will be staffed on all three tours. The staffing will be PSE clerks from the P&DC and SDO overtime. The pecking order for the overtime has been worked out with the local and your stewards are aware of the overtime pecking order. Any questions on overtime please contact your steward on your tour.
The staffing for maintenance and custodians has not been completed as of yet. We will keep you posted on the staffing for those areas.
The manual operations from the L&DC building will be temporarily moved to the annex building in order for a new machine to be installed at the L&DC. At the completion of the installation the manual operations will return to the L&DC building. We still are in need of the date, this move will take place. We will update you as we have the information.
The Christmas mail will be operating out of the annex, starting approx. November 10th. The staffing for the Christmas work will be based from the L&DC building. As we get updates on this, we will update you.
There are three different operations that will be taking place at the annex building. If you have questions, please contact your steward. This will be discussed in detail this Saturday, September 22 at our 930 a.m. union meeting.
We will be working mail for Fayetteville for now; we may be getting mail from other areas. This is all taking place as we go into the holiday season. Please be flexible and understanding as possible as we try to make it through this crisis, along with preparing and getting through the holiday season.
