Anthony "Tony" Wilson, General President -JOBS UPDATE
Updated On: Nov 06, 2017
I just completed a jobs meeting with management today on the current bids and what they are projected to do in the very near future. It will be a long complex uphill battle with what they are trying to do. First, four jobs will be pulled from the current bid and not awarded at this time. They are improper. Below are the four jobs.
Job ID: 95337792
Job ID: 95293713
Job ID: 95195991
Job ID: 95072757
Management just completed another F-1 scheduler. Management will be proposing an excessing and we have been placed back on Article 12 withholding. Management is proposing more cuts to jobs; they want to cut another 13 jobs in the facility. They plan to reduce the start times even further. They will end up with 6 start times. The information they gave today the 6 start times will be:
If you have a start time other than the ones above, there is a great chance you job will eventually be affected. We are in the process of planning weekly meetings, so I can stay abreast of the changes as they come. We will be filing a grievance on this second F-1 scheduler. We have to be vigilant in protecting our work in the meantime. We have to file grievances on supervisors performing our work. Lead clerks have to perform the TACS duties, when not allowed to perform the TACS duties, file your grievance. I will keep you as informed as possible.
I was just informed today of the time changes at the L&DC. I was sent the change letters today and we will be looking at them. I also was sent today the information from the most recent F-1 scheduler. Management is looking to cut 13 jobs in the facility. They plan to reduce the start times even further. They will end up with 11 start times, at the moment they have around 22 start times. The information also shows that the NTFT jobs will be done away with; I haven’t met with management as of yet on this information. I will be scheduling a meeting as soon as possible. The information they gave today the 11 start times will be:
If you have a start time other than the ones above, there is a great chance you job will eventually be affected. I will keep you as informed as possible.
We have started working on preparing for the line H. We have our second meeting with management next week pertaining to the line H. The BEM job that was proposed for reversion is being grieved.
There were not a lot on jobs issue going on at the present. There are 3 routes that were awarded that should be filled in the next month. I attended a morning and afternoon town hall at the VMF. I will be reaching out to management to follow up on some of the concerns that came up at the meeting. Management mentioned receiving new 11 tons in February and tractors sometime next year.
Unfortunately, as soon as we were released from article 12 withholding, we have been placed back under article 12 withholding. I will keep you posted on this issue. We also will be requesting an updated seniority list for the PSEs. We will be posting it on the website once we receive it.
